The question I am often faced with is how to encourage faculty to integrate technology into their teaching. There are various reasons why people can be resistant or hesitant to adopt new technologies: previous negative experience, lower technical skills, or lack of time. One of the common reasons is lower self-efficacy when it comes to technology, when people believe that the task is too difficult for them to successfully master, and they are afraid of failure.
